Staff Ratio: 1 adult – 3 children. We use a variety of treasure baskets for the young children to explore on a daily basis alongside the other age appropriate resources to stimulate and promote their development.
We also have a separate airy sleep room with several cots.
The moment my son, grandson & I walked in to the nursery, which was recommended by a friend, it felt warm & friendly with excellent security. My grandson has been there now since September last year, he has come on so well & I wouldn’t take him anywhere else, very pleased with all correspondence & support through some difficult times. Thank you all so much.

Staff Ratio: 1 adult – 4 children. This room is large and airy and has large floor to ceiling windows to enable the children to look outside into the sensory garden which can be accessed directly from that room. The children have a variety of outdoor natural experiences in the sensory garden, and grow a wide range of flowers, vegetables, fruits etc which they will then try.
Our son has been attending Little Acorns nursery full time since he was 15 months old and we have never regretted our decision to give him in Sarah and her teams care. The light and airy rooms and outdoor areas give ample opportunities for imaginative and more importantly messy play at the nursery, my son loves the home cooked food and when I pick him up he is rarely ready to go straight away as he enjoys it so much. I know that the girls are a major contributing factor to him developing into a confident, well mannered and happy little boy. You couldn’t ask for more.
Staff Ratio; 1 Adult to 8 children. Children start in here the term after their 3rd Birthday when they receive their 3 and 4 year old Early Years Funding, this includes the universal 15hr entitlement and the 30hrs entitlement due to family eligibility. This room is more structured, however all the activities are planned through observing the children and communicating with them to find out their likes, the staff then enhance these activities to promote their development further. The pre-school room leads directly into a free flow area where again natural outdoor experiences can be promoted and dens made.
We sent our first daughter to Little Acorns on personal recommendation and since then have been able to recommend it to friends and colleagues as they search for a nursery. Always warm and friendly, it is deeply reassuring to know that your little one is in such safe and caring hands. The girls have both thrived in Little Acorn’s healthy mix of fun, learning and genuine care. The staff know the children so well, making sure that their particular interests and individualities are catered for and stimulated, and they continue to be truly interested in my eldest daughter now that she has moved on to school, too. There are also always plenty of extras – dressing up days, themed activities for festivals, and events that the whole family can enjoy.
All children are provided with daily access to their own outdoor play areas. All areas have a very good choice of resources, children learn to balance along the bridge in the secret garden.
Children busily make dens and also grow flowers and plant trees. Physical activity is part of the settings policy to promote a healthy lifestyle with children.
